This surreal artwork showcases a striking figure standing atop a rocky formation against a warm, golden backdrop. The figure's exaggerated, muscular arms and broad chest speak to a blend of strength and vulnerability, conveyed by the exposed torso. Uniquely, the head is replaced with a flowing, leafy form, merging human and nature elements in a seamless fusion. The lower body is wrapped in a textured, emerald green garment, secured by a rope-like belt, evoking an earthy, primal aesthetic. The contrast between the detailed anatomy and abstract features invites contemplation on identity and existence. Symbolism of nature and humanity is artfully interwoven, creating a thought-provoking dialogue on the essence of being and transformation.
Presentation
Angelo de Francisco was born in Milan in 1951 where he lives and works.After a few years of study and through a conspicuous pictorial activity that dates back to 1968, passing through classical and experimental painting techniques, arriving at photography and video art. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Europe and Asia.
