Description
This vibrant canvas erupts in a symphony of color and form. Bold strokes of blue, red, and magenta define a structured yet fluid landscape. Rectangular motifs float across the surface. They suggest illuminated windows or distant urban architectures. Each shape pulses with inner light.
The composition balances rigorous geometry with an intuitive, painterly energy. Deep indigos contrast sharply with luminous yellows and searing oranges. These tonal clashes create a sense of melodic tension. The layered application of oil and acrylic adds a physical presence to the scene. It transforms the flat surface into a rhythmic map of emotion.
The artist departs from minimalist restraint to embrace an explosive palette. Here, space is fragmented and reimagined. The vertical lines guide the eye upward. They evoke a feeling of ascent and connection. This artwork captures a moment of high intensity. It merges the precision of geometric abstraction with the passion of contemporary expression. The result is a vivid exploration of harmony through contrast. Each brushstroke reinforces the energy of the metropolitan spirit.
Presentation
Nataliia Krykun, born in 1988, is a Ukrainian ultra-contemporary multidisciplinary artist based in Austria.
Working primarily with monochrome colors and gold leafing, she creates sculptural paintings and minimalist forms that explore depth, texture, and contrast. Her use of monochromatic surfaces, structured reliefs, and carefully chosen materials transforms simplicity into a powerful visual and tactile experience.
Her works are celebrated for conveying universal themes of humanity, identity, and cultural resilience.
Krykun's artwork invites contemplation and stillness, balancing elegance with raw materiality. Her refined aesthetic opens a quiet dialogue between shadow and light, surface and space.
Krykun has participated in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs worldwide. A highlight was the exhibition of her works at the VOLTA Basel and Art Basel Week in Miami, and she is a participant at the Pavilion of Ukraine at the 58th La Biennale di Venezia- “The Shadow of a Dream Cast Upon Giardini Della Biennale".
Her works have also been showcased at Art Fair Vilnius 2023 and in Austria's Krems Museum, within the historic Dominican Church.
She continues her education at the University of Arts Linz, Austria.
