Description
"The Bridge of Leonardo", is a single-span bridge, designed by Leonardo da Vinci in 1502, as part of a civil engineering project at the Golden Horn in Constantinople. This order came from the Ottoman Sultan Bajazet II. The sultan was not convinced by the sketch proposed by the Mona Lisa painter and abandoned the project. For five hundred years, "Leonard's Bridge" remained a simple drawing, lost in a sheet of voluminous notebooks left by the engineer. Until in 1995 a Norwegian artist, Vebjorn Sand, noticed it. Initially designed in stone, the construction of the bridge is done in wood near Oslo. I liked this story, being in the pictorial research of the bridge, I adopted this nod to the memory of the 500 years of the death of the painter.
Presentation
"As if Eva was looking for the formula by which one passes from the forbidden fruit which pushed us out of the Garden of Eden to these small enclosures where our desires and our sorrows are confined. How, with a ruler and a compass and with an equal surface, can we go from the round to the square?
Jean Rouaud, writer Goncourt prize 1991
Bridges, Castles of cards, Eve and the Apple of Adam, New Skin, these series titles have a precise idea; a transcription follows, most often non-figurative, always with the concern and the will to find balance and harmony.
As the daughter of a painter, painting has been present since she was very young. It is only at the age of 26 that she felt the need to explore this art. For a long time, she painted as one keeps a journal. Then, research projects imposed themselves; the drawing, simple exercise at the beginning, became a work in its own right. The line became a stroke, lively, dynamic, stripped to the point of purifying her painting.
