Description
The work is constructed as an object box in a special way. In the background there is a mirror. At a distance of approx 4.5 cm is the front glass plate. Rectangular cutouts of postcards are glued to the inner side of the glass plate. These are snippets that result from cutting used stamps. All the stamps are oriented inwards towards the mirror. You can only recognize them in a mirror image when looking between the snippets. Then an imaginary space opens up between the stamps and their reflection. The postcards and stamps point to another theme. The postcards all show mountain views. They are all stamps from Switzerland. This is how the ironically sounding title "The mountain calls" comes about.
The work sets mementos in completely new contexts and opens up not only optically imaginary, but also new mental spaces.
