Paganini en llamas by Juan Ibarra is a stunning interpretation of the power and heat of fire, rendered in a combination of red and orange colors that seem to dance in a fiery dance. The simulation of flames is achieved through the meticulous application of different materials, such as pastes, resins and acrylic paint, which are superimposed in multiple layers.
Deep red and vibrant orange blend in a color palette that evokes the intensity of fire at its highest point. The warm tones and organic forms that unfold in the work capture the very essence of fiery energy. Each layer of material contributes to the texture and depth of the piece, creating a visual effect that evokes the sensation of heat and movement.

Juan Ibarra's first approaches to the artistic world were shaped by the influence of his grandfather. As the years progressed, he came across works by painters such as Miquel Barceló, Tamayo, Felguerez and others, which ignited within him a burning passion for the visual arts. His creative ability spans a wide range of forms of expression, from painting and printmaking to art-objects and, even more recently, sculpture, where he explores with industrial materials.
The practice of muralism also plays a fundamental role in his artistic path, taking his creations to private institutions. His works have been presented and marketed in different galleries, as well as in cultural centers and specialized design and interior design firms. Notable collaborations include names such as MarqCó, Mariangel Coghlan, Galería Estudio Actual, Casa de Cultura Manuel Altamirano in Tixtla Guerrero, Casa de Cultura del Bosque de Tlalpan in Mexico City, Galería de los Cerezos, and Galería La Escalera, among others.

Presentation
The burning sensation conveyed by Juan Ibarra's proposal is comparable to the feeling of seeing cuts and openings in flesh. It is no coincidence that the painter inherits techniques such as frottage and grattage, which give his canvases an aged appearance. In fact, his work is adjacent to the European tradition that encompasses informalism and abstract expressionism. In this way, the artist aims to highlight the worn-out character of painting, as well as the range of textures and reliefs that literally detach from the canvas.
Somehow, his pieces speak of the pictorial disintegration that not only exhausts itself but also gives rise to an exposed process of material healing. Therefore, his creations represent matter in a raw state of cauterization and transformation. This aesthetic of decay is crucial to him as it exacerbates the fragmented nature of the materials he uses to paint. This is because he deliberately resolves his compositions and, to a certain extent, anticipates the ravages of time in the realm of plastic arts.
Hence, his art decomposes color, forms, and spaces, along with their multiple interrelations. It is worth mentioning that the artist works in layers, much like sediments of rock formations, to then intercalate and blend the background with the surface and vice versa on a single plane. Furthermore, his works frequently feature geometric and expressionistic linear structures that enhance the visual effect of corrosion while carrying an immeasurable dramatic charge.
