This artwork is an intriguing abstract composition, set within a minimalist white frame that enhances its modern appeal. The canvas is a dynamic interplay of black and white tones, creating a textured expanse reminiscent of natural landscapes or organic patterns. Swirls and smudges converge to form a rhythmic, almost hypnotic surface, leading the viewer’s eye across the piece with an uncertain fluidity. The contrast between light and dark areas suggests depth and movement, evoking the viewer's imagination to interpret its forms and textures. The print’s unrefined texture adds a tactile dimension, encouraging viewers to engage more deeply. This artwork stands out for its captivating simplicity and depth, drawing attention to the beauty found in abstract forms and the interplay of elemental contrasts.
The panel paintings "Expanded Metal Paintings" are the closest to the classic art of painting. Firstly paint is applied by a brush on a primed canvas. Then wire mesh is dunked into black and white paint and is used to create abstract patterns on top of the red and light grey areas. Similar to traditional blueprints with textiles, the wire mesh is moved across the canvas like a mold. Fingerprints remain as well as the redundant paint. The finished work bears a haptic sensation, the form resembles calligraphy: the surface's sensuality takes center stage.
