Description
"L'esclave" 75x105 cm - oil on paper.
Here the form meets the substance. This is what is wanted all the time. The whole challenge is to succeed in keeping the strength of the initial drawing, the freedom of the line, while letting the paint and color express themselves. Paint can quickly overwhelm the drawing and make it lose its lightness. But it brings another form of emotion and brings reality, truth. When we think of this slave, this is exactly what he experiences. Crushed by his burden, held back by his roots, he loses his freedom. It remains powerful and its structure allows it to hold up. #Inabstract

Presentation
FROM CHAOS TO THE LIVING BEING
When I paint or draw, I start from chaos, I begin to paint spontaneously simple elements, forms, lines, surfaces arranged without preconceived ideas on the canvas. These elements intertwine, associate and give birth to complex forms. I reveal then by drawing on this bottom: figures, members, bodies, objects.
This creates diversified characters, which come from the chaos and inscribe their reality. It is a spontaneous, physical and spiritual act.
