Emanuele Vittorioso was born in Syracuse, Sicily, in 1977. Between 1997 and 2002 he lived and studied in Milan, attending the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, where he specialized in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage. Alongside his work as a restorer, he progressively developed an independent artistic practice, exhibiting mainly in Italy, France and Spain.
His artistic language has its roots in graffiti culture and in his fascination with Italian abstract painting of the 1950s and 1960s. Over time, these influences have evolved into a personal visual vocabulary in which abstraction, post-graffiti and figurative elements coexist.
Vittorioso's paintings are built through layers of acrylic and spray paint, gestural marks, drippings, chromatic contrasts and overlapping forms. Order and chaos, control and spontaneity constantly confront one another, generating compositions characterized by movement, tension and a strong sense of visual energy.
In his most recent work, the human figure and organic forms have become increasingly present. Anatomical references, skeletal structures and luminous, almost fluorescent colors emerge from abstract backgrounds, creating images suspended between beauty and disquiet, life and death, transformation and rebirth.
His practice explores the fragile boundary between the visible and the hidden, the physical and the psychological, maintaining the instinctive energy of urban culture while moving toward an increasingly introspective and symbolic form of painting.
