Description
In May of 2024, Dorine took a trip to Dieppe in Normandy, France. Here, she spent a week working on this new series of collages inspired by the picturesque coastal commune. Her usual focus on light, depth and colour is once again exercised with precision and care.
Every work is unique, they vary in size and material use. Some of them are quite literally three-dimensional, while others remain materially flat, suggesting depth through the use of colours and textures.
Her previous works inspired by the environment of Dieppe were a great commercial success: 70% of the series was sold within the first month. Now she is back with the Dieppe Series 2.0.
Presentation
With her training at the Wackers academy, an academy to teach artists to work in a Realist style, we see that the mastery of technology gives van der Ploeg a freedom to play with her subjects. The swimming pool series, started in 2020 and exclusive for PontArte goes from recognizable to almost abstract lines and forms.
