“Everything we can see around us has a hidden aesthetic, and the artist's goal is to see and release it. There is nothing accidental about our world where all objects have no only a utilitarian meaning, but also contain in itself certain “aesthetic codes.” Photographing sections of wall in today's cities is to try to participate in the transformation of the gaze that the generalized urban phenomenon has triggered. Indeed, decrepit sidewalks or walls have nothing of interest a priori. They are witnesses to the power of rapid decomposition which is at work in cities. And indeed, the walls that Konstantin Kornakov photographs bear traces of this "leprosy" which covers the abandoned walls of certain corners of the towns. On a certain number of images, in fact, one distinguishes such signs which one quickly understands that they are not addressed to anyone but nevertheless bear witness to the passage of man on earth. lures, spots, uncertain patterns which, here seen up close and enlarged, begin to speak our language, because we are the ones who finally traced them, these signs.
