"Galerie 84 is proud to present “Métamorphose Urbaine", an exhibition which offers a unique opportunity to present the work of Frédéric Bourret, enriched by a dynamic collaboration with artists from France and elsewhere. Frédéric exhibits his Parisian photographs like a blank canvas where each artist is invited to add their signature, thus reinventing these urban landscapes according to their own artistic perspectives and their abundant imaginary universes. Each artist, with their personal touch, offers a unique vision of Paris, manifested through diversity. of artistic media, whether through painting, sculpture, science, music… or other forms of expression, together they create an enriching dialogue on the influence and inspiration that the city exerts on the world. art. “Métamorphose Urbaine" rethinks the traditional photographic exhibition to create a captivating artistic meeting point. The works of Frédéric Bourret match the artistic expressions of other emblematic figures of art, in a harmony of captivating images. and varied artistic disciplines. This alchemy offers an immersive and invigorating experience, transporting visitors to a space of freedom for the imagination.

"This creation is inspired by cultural exchanges and the mutual influence between Western culture and Chinese culture. The four ideograms present in the work mean "Great Golden Path", symbolizing a journey towards light, success and glamor in Chinese culture.
To translate this symbolism, I used golden ink applied with a calligraphy brush, thus respecting the tradition of Chinese painting, where brushes of different sizes are used. Triangular shapes and the number three occupy a symbolic and important place in our daily lives, adding a significant dimension to the work.
The red circle, on the other hand, represents the sun, adding a touch of vitality and power to the composition.
This work is intended to be conceptual and minimalist, while being luminous, capturing the essence of simplicity and symbolic depth." - Feng Shang
Presentation
Frédéric Bourret began training as a photographer in New York, where he lived for several years. His immersion in the city allowed him to discover it from off the beaten track. Naturally he decided to pay homage to it through a series that allows us to rediscover New York, far from the clichés that describe a tumultuous and hectic city.
Frédéric Bourret has exhibited some forty times from New York to Berlin, Geneva to Paris... His work is recognised by collectors, specialists and amateurs alike, who appreciate his series which presents themes and approaches that are renewed each time. In addition, there have been three books published, dedicated to his work.
