Mares n°36-XXL is a large-format abstract work by Carolina Bellachi, an artist renowned for her ability to capture the essence of nature through abstract and captivating compositions. This painting, measuring 128 cm wide by 160 cm high, transports us into a dreamlike and mystical marine universe, where the elements of the sea are transformed into visual emotions.
The work is characterized by a color palette dominated by deep blue tones, emerald greens and touches of pearly white, evoking waves, foam and dancing light on the surface of the water. Shades of turquoise and cobalt blend harmoniously, creating a sense of constant movement, similar to waves crashing on the shore.
Bellachi's dynamic and fluid brushstrokes give the whole a rich and tactile texture, inviting the viewer to delve into abstraction and lose themselves in contemplation of detail. The organic shapes and curved lines are reminiscent of sea currents and algae floating gracefully in the ocean.
At the center of the work, bursts of golden light seem to pierce the surface, symbolizing the sun's rays penetrating the sea depths and illuminating the mysteries hidden beneath the water. This subtle use of light adds an ethereal and almost spiritual dimension to the composition, suggesting a deep connection between the sea and infinity.
Mares n°36-XXL is not only a representation of the sea, but an invitation to feel the serenity, power and mystery of the ocean through abstraction. Each look at this work reveals new details and nuances, prompting a contemplative meditation on the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
Born in 1988 in Spain, Carolina Bellachi is a contemporary Spanish artist and abstract painter based in Madrid. Her work develops a profoundly meditative universe where light, textures, and natural materials become vehicles for reflection on consciousness, interiority, and the relationship between humankind and nature. Through a sensitive and spiritual approach, she is gradually establishing herself on the international contemporary abstract art scene.
Passionate about painting since childhood, Carolina Bellachi developed a close connection with natural landscapes and the sensory world from a very young age. She pursued studies in psychology, a background that has profoundly influenced her artistic practice. Her research into perception, emotions, and the mechanisms of consciousness informs a body of work where aesthetic experience becomes a path toward introspection and a deeper connection to the world.
Her artistic language falls within the realms of abstract painting , contemporary abstract expressionism , and lyrical abstraction , while developing a unique identity grounded in materiality and light. The artist uses mineral pigments, white quartz, marble, and various natural elements, integrating them directly into the canvas surface. These materials create reliefs, textures, and plays of light that transform each work into an immersive and sensory experience.
The themes of the sea, corals, Mediterranean landscapes, and nature occupy a central place in his work. Series such as Corales, Génesis, Mar Mediterráneo, and Ecos del Océano explore notions of vibration, balance, and inner transformation. Light appears in these works as a metaphor for origin, creative energy, and the unity between humankind and its environment.
Carolina Bellachi now has her own studio and exhibition space in Madrid, where she creates her works and welcomes collectors and art enthusiasts. Her work has been featured at Madrid art fairs, in her personal gallery, and at international auctions and exhibitions. A campaign organized by MADS Gallery notably included the projection of her creations on screens in Times Square, New York.
The artist also holds official certification from the I-CAC in France, an organization specializing in the evaluation and rating of professional artists. His works are featured on several international platforms and are included in private collections in Europe and abroad. Some sources mention the presence of one of his creations in the permanent collection of the Copelouzos Family Art Museum in Greece.
Through her contemporary painting , Carolina Bellachi develops a poetic and spiritual vision of the world, where mineral matter, light, and color invite the viewer to an experience of contemplation. Her work thus contributes to the renewal of contemporary Spanish abstraction , establishing a constant dialogue between art, nature, psychology, and consciousness.
