Tree rings, 2022

Jarmila Marcisova

At the core of this captivating artwork, a vividly intense circular form in deep bronze and violet hues is encased within a more prominent cobalt blue ring, serving as the focal point. This central motif exudes a magnetizing, almost cosmic energy, drawing the viewer's gaze inward. Surrounding the central circle is an explosive assemblage of textures and colors that radiate outward, breaking the confines of the canvas's boundaries. Flourishes of gold leaf and metallics disperse erratically, suggesting movement and energy, while splashes of rich magentas, lush greens, and royal purples create a dynamic contrast. These colors blend and bleed into one another, adding depth and complexity to the composition.

The background features a subtle yet distinct texture achieved through a meticulous use of grays and off-whites, allowing the central elements to burst forth with more intensity. This masterful manipulation of texture, color, and form is suggestive of abstract expressionism, yet it conveys a sense of cosmic wonder and ethereal beauty unique to this artwork. The artist skillfully balances spontaneity with precision, creating a dynamic interplay between chaos and control. Every element of the piece feels intentional yet free, conveying an atmosphere of both serenity and turbulence. This artwork is a testament to the boundless creativity and skill of its creator, presenting a visual experience that is as thought-provoking as it is visually striking.
