Description
This artwork masterfully combines abstract geometry with symbolic imagery to create a visually arresting piece that speaks volumes. Dominated by a vibrant mix of blues and yellows, the painting immediately captures attention through its energetic color palette.
At the center, a meticulously rendered, almost ethereal hand delicately holds the scales of justice. This powerful image evokes themes of balance, fairness, and ethical equilibrium. The hand appears to emanate from a network of interconnecting geometric shapes and lines, suggesting the interconnectedness of systematic structures and the universal quest for justice.
The interplay between solid forms and translucent hues creates a dynamic tension, further accentuated by the use of sharp angles and soft gradients. The lines, both straight and curvilinear, form a lattice that binds the composition together, offering a modernist take on classical symbolism.
Strategically placed points of light within the geometrical shapes draw the viewer's eye throughout the painting, giving a sense of continuity and movement. These highlights can be interpreted as nodes, perhaps representing pivotal points of decision or moments of enlightenment within the grander scheme of justice.
In this multifaceted composition, the artist successfully fuses abstract and figurative elements, inviting endless interpretations while maintaining a cohesive and assertively unique visual narrative.
Presentation
Alexander Daniloff is a Russian artist and illustrator, born in 1963.
"For me art is a game, a spectacle, where I am an actor, director, set designer. Travels in real or mythological times and changes of decorations and costumes help me to create some sort of theatricalization as a way of artistic thinking, which allows me to achieve in painting a particular effect that shows playfulness and drama of life. My philosophical stance in art is to be as a liquid that can take any form, without losing quality."
After finishing his studies at the Theater School of Niznij Novgorod (Russia) in 1990, he immediately entered to the artistic life and achieved remarkable success since his first exhibitions both in Russia and abroad. From 1987 to 2000 he participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Nizhni Novgorod, Moscow, Norilsk (Russia); Amsterdam, Venlo, Horst, Heusden (Netherlands); Barcelona (Spain); Helsinki (Finland); in San Francisco and Los Angeles (United States). Since 1994 he collaborates with the Dutch gallery Irok.
In 2000 he moved to Italy where he now lives and works as a professional artist.
For 4 years he has collaborated as an illustrator with City Theatre of Rovigo for creating illustrations for playbills.
In Italy Alexander has painted the standards for the Knight Games of Sulmona in 2009; Massa Marittima, San Giovanni d'Asso, Gualdo Tadino in 2010, Lucca and Castel Madama in 2011. He has created three decks of the Tarot published in 2012 and 2014 and illustrated some books.
Since 2000, he has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in Italy (Rome, Milan, Turin, Bologna, Florence, Lucca, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Arezzo, Padua, Rovigo, Ferrara, Verona, Mantua, Castelfranco Veneto, Castelfranco Emilia, Dobbiaco, Pieve di Cadore, Fiuggi, Arcevia, Bari, Augusta, Roccamonfina, Palermo); in the Netherlands (Horst, Panningen) in the gallery "Irok"; in Hungary (Budapest) in the Russian Cultural Center; in Austria (Vienna) in the Russian Centre of Science and Culture and Dorotheum Auction House.
