Description
The legend of Kuna tells of the time of the Ottoman conquests, when Duke Dragostin trained his daughter Kuna to be a brave warrior and a just ruler. With the coming of the Turks, Kuna gathers a squad of maidens whom he trains in fighting skills, and together they fight against the invaders, but almost all lose their lives. Kuna was captured and offered for the sultan's khanam. In response, she throws herself off the sheer cliffs above the Devil's Mill cave. Years later, only the foundation remained of the fortress, and the locals founded a village named after it - Kunino. The legend of the Kuna remains alive among the inhabitants as part of their spiritual heritage.
