Olga Afanasiadi

Olga Afanasiadi is a modern artist from Russia. Olga was born in 1988 in the Urals (Yekaterinburg), where she also studied at an art school. In 2011, she moved to Saint Petersburg, where she visited the workshops and studios of teachers of the Academy of Arts. Repin and the Academy. Baron Stieglitz, as well as the workshop of Nikolai Sychev, a resident of the Pushkinskaya 10 Art center.

“For over 6 years now, I have been imbibing Spanish-speaking culture and this greatly influences my creative expression. My art is at the intersection of primitivism, street art and verbal symbols. I myself define my works as a play of visual and verbal symbols, and I use them in order to convey to the viewer the sensations and atmosphere of everyday life, permeated with the culture of Spain and sometimes Latin America. I consider my other works as reflections on the theme of "metaphysics of being." They are about how to stop and feel the magic of the moment. Sometimes I use repeating symbols, but each time they discover a new meaning or complement some new statement. I like the idea of drawing my inspiration from the streets of Barcelona, Italia or Greece. I have a special love for Barcelona, this is an amazing city, “la ciudad de las maravillas”; it has a unique energy, creativity, freedom and a lot of what I try to convey in my works.”

Olga participated in the following exhibitions and projects in different countries of the world: WorldArtDubai international art fair, representative - CrisolArtGallery (Spain, Barcelona), the international art fair Carouselle du Louvre, representative of the ArtEspaces gallery (Belgium, Brussels), the Flower Power international project (Netherlands, Paris, Brussels), representative of the ArtEspaces gallery (Belgium, Brussels), the international project "To Spain with Love" - independent exhibition: "ART WEEK in SPAIN” with the participation The International Union of Curators with the support of the World Fund of Arts, Eurasian Art Union, Arte Sin Fronteras and ImaginArte Gallery, Russia Art Week (Eurasian Art Union, “Congress Hall "Danilovsky" - Moscow, Russia)
