Description
This artwork is a beautiful abstract composition that uses a bold play of colors and textures to evoke a serene marine atmosphere. The canvas is dominated by a gradient of blues, ranging from dark blue to bright cyan, creating an effect of depth and mystery as if one were contemplating an infinite horizon across a calm sea. A slightly irregular gold band runs horizontally across the canvas. This touch of gold immediately catches the eye, contrasting beautifully with the surrounding blue tones. It can symbolize a shoreline, a dividing line between the sky and the sea, or a glimmer of hope in the vast blue. The surface of the canvas also features delicate textures, perhaps achieved through the application of various mediums, which add a tactile dimension to the work. Nadine de Lespinats is a self-taught French painter, bronze medalist from the Academy of Arts Sciences Letters and listed in Akoun.
Her work lies at the intersection of abstraction, symbolism, and semi-figuration. Using oil paints, which she prefers to apply with a palette knife, she creates works of dense and vibrant texture, where color acts as a vehicle for emotion and inner resonance.
With the series Éternelles , the artist takes a new step in her artistic exploration. She incorporates framing devices into the very heart of the work and enriches its surfaces with the use of gold leaf, lace, and pearls. These precious elements establish a subtle dialogue between memory, matter, and light, while preserving the gestural force that constitutes the signature of her pictorial language.
