Description
This artwork features a mesmerizing interplay of geometric precision and vibrant color. Dominating the composition is a large, symmetrical triangle that emerges subtly from a background of multiple vertical stripes. The stripes vary in width and color, creating an intricate tapestry of warm, earthy tones, including shades of yellow, orange, and green. This careful arrangement creates a sense of depth and movement, inviting viewers to explore the harmonic balance of form and color. The triangle acts as an anchor amidst the dynamism, adding layers of complexity to the minimalist style. The artist's masterful use of color gradients and precise lines results in an optical illusion where the shapes appear to shift and pulse. This piece is an exquisite example of modern abstract art, captivating in its simplicity yet profound in its execution.
Presentation
Rachel Wickremer, born 1976 in Buckinghamshire, is a Canterbury based painter known for her colourful work exploring the relationship between the maker and the prefabricated, she is interested in lines, pattern and the space in-between.
Her process involves injecting manufactured polycarbonate sheets with acrylic paints which are then repetitively drawn onto to obtain a depth of line and dramatically altering the initial tone of the painting.
