Description
This painting depicts a Swiss Alpine valley, bathed in a soft, crystalline light typical of high-altitude mornings. In the foreground, a stream winds through a green valley. The crystal-clear water reflects the blue, cloudless sky. On the right, a large larch tree, with golden needles, dominates the scene. Behind it, darker, deep green fir trees form a striking contrast with the larch. Other, smaller larches, on the left, in the background, seem to answer them. All these trees seem to protect the stream, adding a feeling of calm and intimacy to the whole. In the background, a snow-capped mountain range rises, their peaks sparkling in the sun. The pristine snow creates an effect of purity and grandeur, while the blue shadows add depth and relief. The sky is clear, a clear blue, highlighting the lofty peaks and the peaceful landscape of the valley.
Presentation
After a scientific career as a doctor of nuclear chemistry, Odile Pinto Corbin turned to a life of art. Her training led her to explore various studios in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and then France, where she perfected her technique with Thierry Lefort. She is now a member of the Dictionnaire des Artistes Cotés (Dictionary of Listed Artists). She has sold in the United States, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, and, of course, France.
Her experience as a chemist gave her a unique perception of colors, revealing their diversity and fascinating intensity. Now, she transcribes this deep passion into her paintings. She attempts bold combinations, seeking to master the balance between contrast and harmony. The use of a broad chromatic spectrum is a technical challenge, an assumed risk, which gives her works an intense energy and a singular depth.
His compositions are often rooted in familiar subjects: landscapes, still lifes, portraits. From this concrete foundation, his work then consists of a constant exploration of the infinite possibilities of color and its emotional impact. Ultimately, the viewer, first introduced into a familiar environment, is led through a labyrinth of colors to a universe of free thought specific to abstraction.
