Description
This striking artwork depicts a couple in a moment of emotional intimacy. The man, with expressive features and a pronounced moustache, tenderly tilts his head towards the woman, symbolizing a deep connection. The woman, adorned with red and orange flowers in her curly hair, closes her eyes, expressing an almost melancholic serenity. The vibrant colours contrast with the more subdued hues of their clothing, accentuating the drama of the scene. The background is a soft blue, which creates a calming atmosphere while highlighting the complex emotions of the characters. The bold use of brushstrokes adds a unique texture, enriching the depth of the work. This painting, with its harmonious composition and poignant expressiveness, invites the viewer to explore the intricacies of love and human vulnerability.
Presentation
Born in 1958, French of Armenian origin, Sylvie PULUR grew up in Marseille. After studying accounting in Paris, she rediscovered her passion for drawing and painting six years ago, after raising four children. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art. A self-taught artist, she uses various techniques such as charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic for her creations on canvas and paper. Her work is distinguished by a subtle play of color contrasts and emotions, inviting meditation and reverie. Her works are unique and imaginary, marked by significant periods of her life.
Sylvie PULUR's works reflect key moments in her life. The series "Les Marines" evokes her arrival in France by boat, with about twenty oil and acrylic paintings influenced by Ivan Aivazovsky's seascapes. Passionate about the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, [he/she] also produced numerous sketches representing women of various origins, inspired by black and white photographs and the works of Tamara de Lempicka and Edward Hopper.
