I wanted to bring a moment of tranquility and escape “When the sky takes on a thousand colors, the sailboat becomes the echo of a dream".
This captivating work depicts a solitary boat sailing through a stormy sea. The sky, richly colored with vivid shades of pink, blue, and yellow, evokes a dramatic twilight, where the clouds seem to dissolve in a dance of ethereal colors. The center of attention is the boat, with its distinctive red sail, majestically cutting through the waves. The rugged texture of the oil paint lends depth and dynamic movement to the water. The powerful contrasts between the dark hues of the ocean and the bright bursts of the sky create a mesmerizing visual tension. The work evokes a sense of solitude and determination, capturing a moment when nature and humanity meet in perfect harmony. A visceral tribute to the wild beauty of the sea.
Presentation
Born in 1958, French of Armenian origin, Sylvie PULUR grew up in Marseille. After studying accounting in Paris, she rediscovered her passion for drawing and painting six years ago, after raising four children. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her art. A self-taught artist, she uses various techniques such as charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic for her creations on canvas and paper. Her work is distinguished by a subtle play of color contrasts and emotions, inviting meditation and reverie. Her works are unique and imaginary, marked by significant periods of her life.
Sylvie PULUR's works reflect key moments in her life. The series "Les Marines" evokes her arrival in France by boat, with about twenty oil and acrylic paintings influenced by Ivan Aivazovsky's seascapes. Passionate about the Roaring Twenties and Art Deco, [he/she] also produced numerous sketches representing women of various origins, inspired by black and white photographs and the works of Tamara de Lempicka and Edward Hopper.
