Description
This fascinating work unfolds in a whirlwind of dreams and realities. At the center, a female face with closed eyes seems to float in an ocean of blue hues. Her hair transforms into waves that integrate dreamlike elements: a picturesque house, snow-capped mountains and a Viking longship. Each detail is delightfully intertwined, illustrating an inner journey mixed with folklore and mythology. The starry sky in the background evokes serenity and infinity, accentuating the mystical character of the scene. The fluid lines and soft colors create an almost musical harmony, inviting the observer to explore every nuance of this shimmering universe. This unique composition celebrating the imagination transports the viewer beyond the visible, encouraging contemplation and discovery.
Presentation
Florence Malcombe feeds on the present, with infinite precision fixes the moment. She dives into the marine abysses, loses herself in all horizons, loses herself in limitless spaces.
So she builds, assembles and structures the shelter. The shelter, the habitat, the dwelling, the cabin, the city, fragile and ephemeral. The shelters at the very top of the totems, perched like birds' nests, protected untouchable!....
But isn't man's first shelter his own body, the fleshly envelope, the skin, the first rampart against external aggression? His work reveals this body to us, in its transparency, the strength of the feeling in front of his paintings is uncompromising.
The body becomes an architecture, and its architectures come to life! Florence Malcombe's work offers a reflection on the place of man on earth.
She is a complete artist. Over several years of research, she has developed a technique that is unique to her. Her paintings are filled with natural materials that she gleans, that she steals from the sea to return them to the sea(e) with her very personal technique, powdery materials thirsty for pigments that she happily waters.
