Excerpt from a fiction in 9 paintings based on the short story "Jour de Congé" by Chantal Pelletier (French novelist, short story writer and screenwriter), written in Hong Kong, where she had come to meet the artist Michele Auboiron.

This captivating work features a two-part composition, skillfully merging urban and marine elements. The upper section is dominated by a traditional Chinese boat with red sails, contrasting sharply with a black and white cityscape. The words “Kowloon HK" and “Wuhan-Canton China" frame the scene, adding a geographical and cultural dimension. Modern buildings in the background illustrate the dialogue between tradition and modernity. In the lower section, abstract texts and patterns, in black script on a grey background, evoke an atmosphere of mystery and reflection. Small touches of red visually unite the two sections, creating a harmonious connection. This work is distinguished by its bold use of limited colours and contrasting forms, highlighting the dynamism and duality of contemporary Asian identity.
