Description
This work depicts a sandy path leading to a serene beach, lined with weathered wooden fences. The sea, a bright blue, stretches to the horizon, while rocks sculpt the landscape. Yellowing grass and blades of gorse add a natural and authentic texture. The clear sky reflects a soft luminosity, accentuating the tranquility of the scene. The artist masters perspective, inviting the viewer to lose themselves in the depth of the painting. The contrasts of colors and the precision of the details display a striking realism, transporting the observer to this frozen moment, filled with tranquility and contemplation. It is a vibrant homage to the natural beauty of the coasts, where each narrative element enriches the canvas with depth and emotion. "This painting is the expression of freedom and joy, the happiness of running to soak your feet after crossing the dunes. How good it is to find a little of your youth again."
Presentation
He was born in Cherbourg, at the very end of the Cotentin, and spent his entire youth there. He would go to the docks of the transatlantic liners to watch the maneuvers of the small and large boats.
His desire to represent them manifested itself very early on and he began to draw old sailing ships on his own, in pencil and pen, encouraged to do so by Jean Charles Arnault, founder of the Chantereyne maritime museum.
He discovered the paintings of Marin Marie (marine painter) and it was the dazzling that led him to paint in watercolor or acrylic. Over the years, the formats have grown larger and the quality of the works has improved. The skies and the sea (always decorated with seagulls) are distinguished by the nuance of the colors and the realism of the shapes.
