Description

"Winter Trail in the Forest" is a striking Oil painting on cardboard that captures the peaceful yet mysterious beauty of a snow-covered forest. The artist employs thick impasto brushstrokes, creating a rich texture that enhances the depth and tactile quality of the scene. The composition leads the viewer along a winding trail, flanked by towering pine trees, their branches heavy with fresh snow. The painting's color palette is dominated by cool shades of blue, green, and white, evoking the crisp chill of winter air. The forest's deep green canopy contrasts with the soft white snow, while hints of red in the tree trunks add warmth and vibrancy to the otherwise cold setting. The ground is covered in untouched snow, with subtle tracks leading into the dense woods, suggesting recent human or animal presence. The background fades into a misty blur, adding a sense of depth and mystery. The darkness of the trees deepens as they recede, reinforcing the idea that the forest extends far beyond what the eye can see. The play of light and shadow across the snow-covered ground further enhances the realism and mood of the painting.Through "Winter Trail in the Forest," the artist conveys a feeling of solitude and contemplation. The painting invites the viewer to step into the quietude of nature, to experience the serenity and timelessness of a winter landscape. The untouched snow, the towering trees, and the secluded path create a meditative atmosphere, where one can momentarily escape from the noise of everyday life.At its core, this artwork is a tribute to the natural world's enduring beauty and the introspection it inspires. The painting encourages us to slow down, to appreciate the simple elegance of a winter scene, and to find tranquility in the vast, silent embrace of the forest.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
