Description
AAA3740
The oil painting on cardboard, titled "River and Golden Field", captures the tranquil beauty of a rural landscape, where nature and human presence blend harmoniously. The artist employs thick, textured brushstrokes and a rich impasto technique to bring the scene to life, creating a composition that is both dynamic and atmospheric. The painting is divided into three distinct layers: the foreground with its lush vegetation, the deep blue river, and the distant village under a vast sky.In the foreground, vibrant greens, earthy browns, and golden yellows depict wild grasses and reeds swaying gently along the riverbank. The brushwork is expressive, adding movement and depth to the natural elements. The bright patches of color suggest sunlight filtering through, illuminating the landscape with a warm, golden glow. The river, painted in deep blues and subtle reflections of gold, serves as the central element of the composition. The thick, horizontal strokes of paint create a sense of calm, as if the water flows slowly and steadily. The dark contrast of the river against the golden field beyond enhances its presence, making it a natural dividing line between the viewer's perspective and the distant village.Beyond the river, the golden field stretches towards the horizon, bathed in warm sunlight. The artist's use of ochres, yellows, and soft oranges conveys the richness of the land, possibly ready for harvest. The small village, with its red-roofed houses and a prominent white church topped with a golden dome, stands as a symbol of tradition and peaceful rural life. The church, slightly off-center, acts as a focal point, drawing the eye and adding a spiritual element to the composition.Above, the sky is painted in soft purples, blues, and grays, with swirling clouds that suggest a changing atmosphere. The artist captures the fleeting nature of light and weather, adding an element of movement to the otherwise calm scene.Through "River and Golden Field", the artist conveys a sense of peace, nostalgia, and the enduring beauty of the countryside. The contrast between the dark, reflective river and the warm, glowing fields highlights the balance of nature, while the presence of the church and village suggests a deep connection between land, people, and spirituality. The painting invites the viewer to appreciate the simple yet profound beauty of rural landscapes, where time moves gently and nature's colors shift with the changing light.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
