Description
AAA3797
This oil painting cardboard, titled "City National Park", the composition is designed to lead the viewer's gaze down the central paved pathway, which serves as a natural guide toward the background, where a grand, historic building stands. The pathway is lined with tall trees, whose leaves are painted in warm autumnal hues, creating a sense of depth and perspective. The benches and lampposts along the right side of the path add to the structured yet inviting feel of the park. The presence of people walking in the distance adds a dynamic element to the scene, giving the impression of a lively yet peaceful environment. The way the figures are painted—small, impressionistic strokes—enhances the depth of the painting, making the viewer feel as if they are walking into the scene themselves. The painting's color palette is dominated by warm shades of red, orange, and golden yellow, reflecting the beauty of autumn foliage. These vibrant colors contrast beautifully with the cool blues of the sky and pathway, creating a balanced and visually engaging composition. The pathway, depicted in soft blue and gray tones, appears slightly wet, suggesting recent rain and enhancing the reflections of trees and lampposts on the pavement. The soft light filtering through the leaves and reflecting on the ground creates a dreamy, almost nostalgic atmosphere, emphasizing the peacefulness of the park. The deep greens of the grass and shrubbery provide further contrast, highlighting the rich textures and seasonal transformation of the landscape. The details of the lampposts, benches, and distant figures are suggested rather than precisely defined, reinforcing the impressionistic style of the piece. This approach allows the viewer to focus on the mood and essence of the scene rather than getting caught up in fine details. The wet pathway and soft reflections suggest a moment after a light rain, adding a romantic, poetic quality to the scene. The presence of people in the distance reinforces the idea of a shared space where city dwellers come to relax, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the park. The painting evokes feelings of warmth and comfort, despite the crisp autumn air, making it a perfect representation of the charm and elegance of city parks during the fall season.
Presentation
Born in 1960 in Konotop, Sumy Region, Ukraine.
1984 - Graduated from Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School (Department of Art and Graphics).
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, painting and wood carving instructor, artist-designer.
Held the position of Chief Artist in Konotop.
Since 2000 - Independent artist.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
