Description
This artwork is a provocative fusion of classical icons and contemporary symbolism. At the center, dominating the scene, is a $100 bill, against which stands the face of Benjamin Franklin. However, its seriousness is irreverently interrupted by the presence of the Monopoly character, the iconic businessman, who displays a swagger while brandishing a bag of bills. The use of bright yellow for the graffiti-style "Money Money Money" amplifies the central theme of greed and unbridled capitalism. The work challenges modern consumerism, using elements of pop culture to highlight the complexity of relationships with wealth. The bold approach and blend of classical and modern elements make this piece a trenchant commentary on contemporary society, forcing the viewer to reflect on the value of money and cultural icons.
Presentation
Modena Roberta was born in Latina on 5 September 1975. Latina is the city of art and history helps to make Roberta grow in love for art and she began to attend art studies as a young girl, finding inspiration in pop artists such as Andy Warhol and Banksy. From these artists, Roberta draws the messages that their works inspire, and from classical art the mystical charm of Caravaggio and Rembrandt.
In the 2000s, she participated in collective exhibitions and events, and her works met with critical acclaim. Her artistic line definitely turns to pop art and with new artistic techniques she expresses herself with new materials and canvas supports. The art of Roberta is in constant evolution
