Description
This artwork is an abstract piece that powerfully evokes the essence of a sunlit Japanese landscape. Bold horizontal layers of various shades of yellow dominate the canvas, reminiscent of sun-drenched fields. The textured, wavy patterns suggest dynamic movement, capturing the undulating terrain of the countryside. A striking contrast is provided by the vivid red form at the top, suggestive of a tree or a fiery sun setting, drawing the viewer's eye and anchoring the composition. The darker bands interspersed among the yellows echo the shadows cast by hills or trees, adding depth and complexity. This piece's unique texture and color palette create a vibrant, immersive experience, inviting contemplation of nature's rhythm and beauty. Its skillful execution exemplifies the merging of abstract expressionism with a profound sense of place.
Presentation
Enric Correa is a self-taught artist whose work explores the relationship between color, matter, and emotional territory. His artistic language lies between atmospheric abstraction and a poetics of layers, where texture and light construct landscapes that evoke memory, geology, and transformation. Through constant research, he combines acrylics, enamels, sprays, and textural materials to create deep and vibrant surfaces that reinterpret Nature from an intimate and sensory perspective.
In recent years, he has expanded his practice to include expressive figuration—especially birds—which extends his abstract universe into new forms of energy and presence. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Barcelona, as well as national art fairs and competitions, and his work has been recognized by the Esart Gallery (Barcelona), the Accademia Internazionale Greci-Marino (Italy), and various international platforms. He has also been featured in specialized publications such as Revistart.
