Description
This resolutely modern and abstract work uses powerful color contrasts to captivate the viewer. At the center, a bright red triangular geometric shape stands out against a velvety black background. It is flanked by a towering gray block that evokes a sense of solidity and mystery. To the right, a green band interrupts the composition, introducing an element of tension and balance. The apparent simplicity belies a symbolic complexity, juggling concepts of strength and fragility. The dark tones create an introspective atmosphere, while the bursts of vibrant color invite reflection on the dualities inherent in existence. Each element seems precisely calculated to offer a stimulating visual experience, making this work a masterpiece of contemporary art.
Presentation
Born in 1950 in Vendée in France, Joël Chasseriau is a self-taught visual artist, graphic designer, engraver and master art printer living in Paris.
A graphic designer for over twenty-five years, Joël Chasseriau was inspired by contemporary art when he visited the great studios of today's visual artists. Delving into the worlds of Robert Combas, Erro, Peter Klasen and Bernard Pras gave rise to the desire in him to participate in this creative effervescence and to launch himself into visual art.
Geometry and instinct. The artist instinctively begins his canvases with a first colored surface, this determining the next, and so on until the artist is completely satisfied. His work with the material and his singular aesthetic sometimes recalls the Bauhaus graphics that inspired him at the beginning. However, the painter absolutely does not seek to represent: he does not represent, he creates.
A recognized artistHis work in geometric abstraction has earned Joël Chasseriau numerous solo exhibitions in Europe, notably in France, Germany, Estonia, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark, but also in Israel.
