Description

This painting, inspired by the iconic Art Deco style of Tamara de Lempicka, captures the tender and profound bond between a mother and her child. The mother's gentle, protective embrace, combined with the soft folds of her pink robe, symbolizes nurturing warmth and unconditional love. Her gaze, both introspective and affectionate, reflects the deep emotional connection that defines motherhood, while the baby's peaceful expression conveys a sense of trust and innocence. The carefully rendered hands, with their graceful, elongated fingers, emphasize the delicate yet powerful nature of this maternal bond. Through this piece, Konotopsky explores the timeless themes of love, care, and protection, celebrating the strength and beauty of motherhood. The contrast between the flowing, soft fabrics and the defined, sculptural forms of the figures highlights the tension and intimacy that define this universal human experience.
Presentation
Viktor Konotopsky was born in 1967 in the village of Maleshkovka, Nedrigailovsky district, Sumy region.
Graduated from the Kharkiv State Art School and the Faculty of Arts of the Saratov State Pedagogical University named after Makarenko.
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, and an artist in the advertising field.
In the 90s, he lived and worked in Poland (Krakow and Szczecin) and St. Petersburg.
Viktor had many temptations to catch some fashionable artistic disease, but he remained himself.
Judging his painting by the standards of world artistic fashion is as absurd as declaring love with the memorized words of a popular literary hero. In this sense, it is naive, but the naivety of a professionally educated person. His paintings are realistic, although stylized. The landscapes are easily recognizable, but they contain a generalization leading to an image.
