Swimming at the Forest River, 2014

Viktor Konotopsky

S1845

Oil painting Swimming at the Forest River Victor Konotopsky is an atmospheric figurative landscape that captures a quiet summer moment beside a secluded woodland river. Several figures gather near the water beneath towering trees, while a lone bather moves through the shaded river, creating a sense of leisure, intimacy, and connection with nature. Konotopsky demonstrates strong artistic mastery through confident brushwork, simplified yet expressive figures, and a thoughtful balance of light and shadow. Deep greens, blue-black foliage, earthy browns, and cool water tones are enlivened by warm sunlit accents, giving the composition depth and natural rhythm. The artist skillfully contrasts the dense forest with illuminated clearings and reflective water, guiding the viewer's eye through the scene. Loose painterly handling and carefully placed highlights create movement without sacrificing structure. This original oil painting is ideal for collectors of figurative landscapes, forest scenes, river paintings, summer art, impressionist-inspired works, and distinctive fine art.
