Description
A visual cry against the quiet performance of composure, Sanity is a mixed media explosion that blurs the boundary between control and collapse. The word SANITY is scribbled across a night sky like a manic afterthought, defying its own meaning. A woman, stitched together and split apart, drinks something red and dangerous. Behind her, a pink skeleton looms — not as death, but as the witness of her unraveling.
This work lives in the Revolt collection — for those who can no longer whisper.
Presentation
Papayon (Roberto Fernando Salmon) is a Latin American contemporary artist whose work challenges comfort and embraces contradiction. His mixed media pieces — often combining encaustic, oil, cyanotype, and reclaimed materials — explore themes of resilience, trauma, and spiritual rebellion. Driven by symbolism and emotional rawness, Papayon believes art's power lies in its ability to unsettle, ignite, and reflect what we often ignore. His studio is based in Houston, TX, with cross-border visibility in the U.S. and Mexico.
