Description
This painting is from the TOURISTS series.
This figurative, pop art canvas captures a couple of tourists. Sitting on an iconic bench in Park Güell, they immortalize their visit with a selfie, with Barcelona stretching into the horizon. The vibrant colors and simplified shapes bring this contemporary scene to life, celebrating the joy of travel and the art of capturing memories.
Presentation
Michel Das, is a French contemporary painter whose current pictorial expression fits into pop art. The sensitivities of Africa and the subtleties of the Far East outname in its very personal style which is very often influenced by its multiple journeys around the world.
In the mid -1980s, at the dawn of his artistic career, Michel Das recognized himself in impressionism; But he quickly evolves towards bad painting because he still considers his ability to draw. Consequently, his work will evolve to combine fauvism, free figuration and
Pop Art. Later, in 2007, the painter turned an additional page and turned to a new style, grabbing the "playmobil" figurines which, he believes, "are the symbols of excessive globalization, physical and intellectual cloning.
