Description
This work portrays a surfer seen from the back, carrying a black surfboard on his right shoulder. The minimalist style and the flat color create a striking effect, highlighting the contrast between the sculptural body of the surfer and the surrounding landscape. The shades of beige, brown and green evoke a beach at sunset, strengthening the serene atmosphere. The surfer's silhouette is clearly distinguished against the clear sky in the background, stressing the mastery of movement and the balance symbolized by the board. The play of shadows and lights accentuates the shapes, adding a subtle depth to the whole. This work captures the essence of freedom and adventure, inviting to dream of vast sea horizons and moments of tranquility in the face of nature.
Presentation
Michel Das, is a French contemporary painter whose current pictorial expression fits into pop art. The sensitivities of Africa and the subtleties of the Far East outname in its very personal style which is very often influenced by its multiple journeys around the world.
In the mid -1980s, at the dawn of his artistic career, Michel Das recognized himself in impressionism; But he quickly evolves towards bad painting because he still considers his ability to draw. Consequently, his work will evolve to combine fauvism, free figuration and
Pop Art. Later, in 2007, the painter turned an additional page and turned to a new style, grabbing the "playmobil" figurines which, he believes, "are the symbols of excessive globalization, physical and intellectual cloning.
