Description
This is a landscape painting. In the foreground is a pond with a boat drifting on it, with a person sitting in the boat. The water is reflective and fringed with aquatic plants. In the background are trees, and farther still a horizon with blurred outlines. The whole scene is rendered in soft pastel tones, which gives the work a calm, dreamy look.
