Description
AAA4787
The oil painting on Cardboard titled "The Silence of the Summer Forest" captures the serene, almost mystical atmosphere of a dense pine forest bathed in the soft, filtered light of a summer afternoon. The artist skillfully uses a vibrant yet natural color palette to convey the depth and richness of the forest, where the tall, slender trunks of pine trees reach upwards, their rough bark illuminated by the sun's warm rays breaking through the thick canopy. The composition draws the viewer into the heart of the forest, with a winding, sun-dappled path cutting through the lush undergrowth. The ground is a mosaic of earthy tones, with shades of mossy green, warm browns, and soft purples blending seamlessly into one another. The thick, textured brushstrokes create a palpable sense of the forest floor, covered in fallen needles, scattered leaves, and patches of sunlight. As the eye moves upward, the trees themselves take on a majestic quality, their trunks painted with a mix of dark browns, deep greens, and striking flashes of orange-red, capturing the unique hues of sunlit pine bark. The interplay of light and shadow among the trees adds a sense of depth and dimension to the scene, emphasizing the cool shade beneath the towering pines and the warmth of the sunlit clearings. In the background, the dense foliage creates a tapestry of varying greens, from the deep, shadowy tones of the forest's interior to the vibrant, sunlit edges where the trees catch the afternoon light. This contrast between light and shadow adds a sense of mystery and timelessness to the painting, inviting the viewer to imagine the quiet rustling of leaves, the soft crunch of needles underfoot, and the gentle whisper of a summer breeze moving through the branches. The artist's use of thick, expressive brushstrokes gives the painting a textured, almost three-dimensional feel, capturing the roughness of tree bark, the softness of moss, and the delicate, shifting patterns of sunlight. The result is a scene that feels both intimate and grand, capturing the essence of a summer forest at its most peaceful and enchanting. This painting beautifully conveys the timeless allure of the natural world, reminding the viewer of the simple, profound peace that can be found within the depths of a sunlit forest, where time seems to stand still and the only sounds are the rustle of leaves and the distant call of birds.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
