Description
This work by Sabine Louriac is distinguished by a plastic research centered on matter and pictorial structure. The artist composes a rich surface where layers, textures, and variations in chromatic density are superimposed, creating a visual field that eludes any univocal reading. The absence of a fixed orientation is an integral part of the conception: the painting can be presented in any direction, each rotation offering a new formal organization and another internal balance. This openness of reading reinforces the autonomy of each plastic element, which no longer depends on an imposed directional reference.
One detail underlines this desire to thwart conventions: the signature itself, made with differently oriented letters, reflects the experimental approach and the rejection of a single point of view. It is no longer simply a sign of authenticity, but participates in the logic of the work by reminding us that perception remains shifting and variable depending on the hanging. In this work, Sabine Louriac highlights the active role of the viewer, led to choose their orientation and, consequently, to produce their own interpretation of the composition.

Sabine Louriac is a French artist born on November 12, 1954 in Castres in the Tarn.
At the age of 10, she started practicing drawing and later on became passionate about painting. She got a training in painting at first autodidactically before working in the workshop of Brienne with Jean Louis Engels until 1994. She then enrolled in open courses at the School of Fine Arts of Toulouse with Rémi Peyranne.
A versitile artist he draws his inspiration from raw art to cubism; from Matisse to Modigliani, from Picasso to Chagall, Sabine Louriac's paintings depict mostly female personages, strange and almost anthropomorphism with a colorful and bright color pallette.
