Description
Marco continues his pictorial exploration of color and movement, which are at the heart of his artistic universe. The work, created in acrylic on paper, conveys a collective energy where bodies and rhythms seem to blend into a single visual dynamic. The silhouettes, sketched by vivid and fluid contours, are set in a space saturated with light and colorful vibrations, giving the painting an almost musical vitality.
This work illustrates Marco's characteristic approach: an immediate pictorial language, marked by the use of bold colors and a free gesture that favors expressiveness rather than figurative detail. We find here his taste for the representation of festive moments, close to the Mediterranean imagination, where dance, music and conviviality become recurring themes.
Part of a lineage that can recall the popular energy of Free Figuration or the luminous bursts of Fauvism, Marco's painting nevertheless retains a strong singularity: that of a dreamlike world where reality is transformed into a pictorial celebration.
Presentation
Marco was born in Munich in 1973. After studying art in Cardiff and Falmouth (Great Britain), he received a UNESCO scholarship for a residency at the Paa Ya Paa art center in Nairobi ( Kenya). The resulting work will be exhibited at the UN headquarters in Gigiri.
During his travels around the world, he tries various artistic practices, such as metal sculpture, the creation of installations and ornamental photography. At the pace of his travels, Marco's work is also imbued with his various human and artistic encounters, thus becoming the original product of an intercultural fusion.
Even beyond the singularity of his career, it is the playful musicality that emanates from Marco's paintings that makes each of his works a real concentrate of happiness and expressionist inventiveness. The artist invites us through each of his compositions to enter weightlessness into a positive universe. An ode to Carpe-Diem!
Now based in the south of France, Marco exhibits permanently, in France, at the Galerie Plurielle in Sète (34).
