The Oil painting on Cardboard titled “Autumn reflected on the face of the river" embodies the breathtaking transformation of nature in the season when the warmth of summer gives way to the vibrant yet fleeting spectacle of fall. With expressive, confident brushstrokes and a rich palette of colors, the artist captures the moment when autumn's fiery hues spill across the landscape and soften into a reflection upon the still waters of a river. This work is not simply a depiction of a scene but a meditation on time, change, and the poetic dialogue between earth and sky, land and water, life and its echo. At the heart of the composition stands a majestic tree, its foliage ablaze with vivid oranges, reds, and touches of golden yellow. Each brushstroke is layered thickly, suggesting both the richness and fragility of the season, as if the leaves might tumble into the river with the slightest breeze. The energy of the impasto technique conveys the tree's vitality, standing proud yet inevitably destined to surrender to the coming winter. Its mirrored presence in the river's surface, though abstract and slightly blurred, doubles the sense of grandeur, underscoring the title's theme of reflection. The river itself becomes the silent narrator of the painting, lying in wait to receive the images cast upon its surface. Painted with muted purples, blues, and soft greens, the water provides both contrast and harmony to the vibrancy of the autumn foliage. The reflections ripple and shift with the brushstrokes, creating a sense of motion in stillness, of fleeting beauty preserved for only an instant. The river does not merely echo the landscape; it transforms it, lending it an ethereal quality that transcends the physical world. Surrounding the central tree, the landscape unfolds in a tapestry of autumnal colors. The grasses and fields are tinged with earthy browns, warm golds, and fading greens, marking the passage from lush summer life to the dormancy of winter. The road, painted in pale lilac and soft beige tones, winds gently into the distance, pulling the viewer's gaze deeper into the composition. This pathway, subtle yet purposeful, symbolizes continuity and the journey of time, reminding us that every season leads inevitably to the next. Above, the sky is expansive, painted in cool shades of blue and lavender, streaked with wisps of white and hints of soft gray. Its calmness contrasts with the fiery intensity of the tree, reinforcing the balance between permanence and change. The sky, eternal and vast, frames the transitory blaze of autumn, while the river below captures and preserves its fleeting glow. This triad—tree, sky, river—forms the core of the painting's emotional resonance, speaking to the interconnectedness of all elements in nature.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
