Description
This captivating artwork features a vibrant geometric pattern dominated by red and green hues. The repeated forms evoke an ethnic rug, rich in cultural symbolism. At the center, two stylized figures with elaborate headdresses immediately draw the eye. Their symmetrical placement adds visual harmony to the composition. The vivid, almost fluorescent colors create a striking contrast with the black lines that delineate each element, accentuating the overall graphic quality. The frame, shaped to resemble a natural border, seems to enclose this dynamic scene in a timeless space. This work exemplifies the intersection of tradition and modernity, offering the viewer a visual exploration that transcends the everyday with explosive energy and undeniable artistic depth.
Presentation
Brigitte Millet was born in 1957 in Montville, in Seine-Maritime.
An artist with a self-taught career, she ended up training at the École des Arts du Feu in Vallauris between 1993 and 1995, in the “Pottery and Ceramic Decor” section. In 1995, she founded with her companion
their own ceramic workshop and bronze foundry.
“Having lived in Vallauris more than twenty years ago, I discovered“ ceramics ”through contact with artists who had worked with Cocteau, Chagall, Picasso.
I can say that I am like Obelix, fallen not into the magic potion, but fallen into the magic of creation. The same goes for my paintings, the base of which is cardboard, seeing the transformation of this material fascinates and fascinates me. With my companion, we created a ceramic workshop plus a bronze foundry and left the Côte d'Azur for the Périgord. "
