Description
In Cadavre exquis, Christelle Lenci channels the spirit of surrealist automatism through a dense and fluid network of interwoven forms. The drawing unfolds like an organic tapestry — a hybrid of human, vegetal, and fantastical elements merging and dissolving into one another. Her fine ink lines create pulsating textures, while muted greens and browns lend the piece an earthy, almost anatomical depth.
The title — a reference to the surrealist game of collective creation — reflects Lenci's fascination with the unconscious and the unpredictable emergence of imagery. Yet, unlike the original surrealists, her approach feels deeply personal and obsessive: each line seems guided by intuition, each form growing out of another in a continuous metamorphosis.
Cadavre exquis stands as a visual labyrinth of instinct and imagination, where beauty and strangeness intertwine — a living anatomy of dreams.
