Description
In Balançoire, Christelle Lenci weaves an intricate and hypnotic web of interlaced female figures, animals, and organic motifs. Executed in fine ink lines and muted earth tones, the composition feels simultaneously sensual and unsettling — a suspended dance between desire, chaos, and metamorphosis.
The artist's obsessive detailing and flowing, almost automatic drawing technique evoke a dreamlike state, where the boundaries between bodies dissolve into ornamental rhythms. Echoing her fascination with subconscious imagery, Lenci's universe is one of entanglement and liberation: a realm where women dominate, reclaiming the space of fantasy and fear alike.
Like much of her work, Balançoire embodies Lenci's distinctive blend of surreal narrative and psychological intensity — a visual stream of consciousness that celebrates the strange, the ambiguous, and the instinctively human.
