Description
In L'animal, Christelle Lenci conjures a dense, visceral composition where human and beastly forms merge into a single, tangled organism. The work oscillates between fascination and repulsion: open mouths, eyes, scales, and fragments of bodies intertwine in an intricate web of ink lines and organic textures.
Lenci's meticulous drawing technique — precise yet instinctive — gives the image a living, pulsating quality. The boundaries between predator and prey, violence and sensuality, are dissolved. The “animal" here is not a specific creature but a psychological state, a mirror of instinct, hunger, and primal energy embedded within the human psyche.
Through this chaotic fusion, L'animal becomes an allegory of inner wilderness — a revelation of the untamed, subconscious forces that shape both body and mind.
