Description
This vibrant artwork captures a serene indoor-outdoor setting. The open door invites viewers into a space filled with lush greenery, strategically placed on a foreground table. The plants, rendered in deep greens, contrast against the vivid, almost neon pink of the floor, which electrifies the scene. The background walls are awash with soft, blurred hues of yellow and purple, enhancing the painting's dreamlike quality. A lone, empty frame hangs on the wall, adding an element of mystery and contemplation. The brushwork is dynamic yet controlled, giving a sense of movement and life to the composition. The artist's use of bold colors and fluid transitions challenges traditional perspectives, creating a captivating interplay between the indoors and outdoors. This piece stands out for its unique blend of realism and abstraction, inviting viewers to explore the boundary between nature and man-made space.
Presentation
Sa Hara is a Korean artist born in 1975 who lives and works in Seoul, South Korea. She is graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration at Dongguk University. Through Physical Theatre, the artist explores how characters reflect one another, expressing freedom and imagination through bodily performance. With a keen interest in the movement of the human body, observations are transformed into unique works that convey the unrestricted freedom of the mind. Each work contains a narrative, featuring characters and networks of relationships. These relationships are not confined by social or legal structures but instead reflect a worldview of relative freedom. Using the non-verbal language of bodily movement, the characters perform as if on stage, reflecting each other, becoming aspects of one another, and giving rise to thoughts and actions, thus existing through each other and forming the whole. The artist draws inspiration from human movement, real-life stories of relationships, fictional novels, and videos on Instagram and YouTube. Plants, books, music, dance, and various forms of art also provide intellectual stimuli, which are combined with imagination to create the works.
