Description
This artwork features two dynamic abstract compositions side by side, each distinguished by bold geometric forms and a vibrant color palette. The left piece is structured with four quadrants, each housing symmetrical, angular patterns that converge towards a central triangular axis. Its use of dark outlines enhances the contrast, creating a striking visual impact. The right composition presents a more fluid interplay of shapes, with curved and angular forms intersecting, evoking a sense of movement and energy. Its diverse color scheme, ranging from deep reds to vivid blues, invites the viewer to explore the intricate layering and depth. Both pieces use sharp lines and contrasting colors to create a sense of harmony and tension, offering a visually stimulating experience that captures the essence of abstract expressionism. The duality of symmetry and chaos in this artwork exemplifies a masterful exploration of geometry and color.
Presentation
Almo wonders about his identity, the countries he has lived in, his daily routine and how he creates himself. An outsider who has made the world his home, skin, and citizenship, and through his artwork, he safeguards it in an attempt to explore the mysteries that pass through. Whether they are symbols, dreams or marks of the life of each of us. The artist´s work often features heads, floating bodies, trees, dollar signs, cars, laurel branches, and symbolic elements that denounce the cruelties of our borders. Almo executes his drawings intuitively in these acrylic paintings, aiming for a state of ´semi-trance´ as he himself defines his process.
Almo, Jorge Alberto Morillo Doria, was born in Honduras, spent his childhood in the Phillippines, moved to Italy for his Univesity studies, and now resides in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
