The Oil painting Cardboard titled "House near the forest" presents a tranquil rural scene where the beauty of everyday life in the countryside is captured with vibrancy and warmth. The central focus of the composition is a modest wooden house partially hidden by the embrace of surrounding trees, giving a sense of harmony between human habitation and the natural world. Its roof, painted in muted tones of grayish lilac, stands in gentle contrast to the dense greenery, adding to the rustic charm of the painting. The house itself seems to settle comfortably into the landscape, as though it belongs there, nurtured by the earth and shielded by the forest. The foreground is alive with rich, varied brushstrokes of green, yellow, and golden ochre, evoking the lushness of a sunlit meadow in late summer or early autumn. A haystack positioned prominently on the left side adds a storytelling element, suggesting the labor and rhythm of agrarian life. Its warm tones of straw yellow and earthy brown catch the light, radiating a sense of abundance and completion, as though the field has yielded its harvest and now rests quietly. The artist uses thick, expressive impasto to bring vitality and texture to the canvas. The grass is painted with quick, deliberate strokes of bright green, olive, and hints of orange, creating an impression of movement, as if a gentle breeze passes through. The play of light across the meadow is skillfully conveyed, with areas of vivid illumination giving way to cooler shadows under the trees, lending depth and balance to the composition. In the background, tall trees painted in deep, saturated greens rise into the pale blue sky, their crowns blending into one another in a dense wall of foliage. Some touches of bluish-gray and teal add variety, suggesting different species of trees and enhancing the sense of depth. The forest behind the house appears both protective and mysterious, its dark tones forming a natural boundary while simultaneously inviting the imagination to wander into its quiet, shaded paths.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
