Description
"Shoebox Full of Surprises" invites the viewer into a quiet act of discovery. Built through layers of intuitive color and meandering line, the painting feels assembled rather than composed—each shape like an object pulled from storage, carrying its own history and energy. Soft blues and greens provide a calm scaffold, while flashes of coral, orange, and red introduce moments of delight and interruption.
The surface reveals its process openly: revisions remain visible, textures accumulate, and dark lines stitch the composition together without over-defining it. This openness gives the work an intimate, lived-in quality—less about resolution than about curiosity and attention. As a result, the painting rewards long looking, offering new relationships and visual “finds" over time.
For collectors, is a piece that balances playfulness with depth—a work that brings warmth and movement to a space while quietly unfolding its complexity the longer it's lived with.
