Description
“Roses by the Sea" by Aleksandr Kryushyn is a lyrical oil painting that merges still life with marine atmosphere. A bouquet of roses—red, yellow, white, and coral—stands in a translucent green vase on a sunlit table by the sea. Painted with broad, confident impressionist brushstrokes, the composition emphasizes color harmony and painterly texture over strict detail. The deep blue background suggests moving water and open air, creating a dialogue between intimacy and vastness. Kryushyn's technique relies on expressive color contrasts, dynamic strokes, and visible layers of oil paint, conveying freshness, light, and coastal calm. The work evokes summer serenity and quiet contemplation, transforming an everyday still life into an emotional seascape infused with light, air, and Mediterranean mood.

Alexander's vivid creative style combines a professional academic approach to his work, the refined technicality of European impressionism and the bright expressive manner of the southern Ukrainian school of painting. Beginning with academic impressionism, the artist gradually moved to a richer colour palette, and his fascination with Impressionism eventually led him away from a linear style with classical narratives. Over more than twenty years of professional work, trips to plein air and studio work, Alexander has developed a bright and original creative style and manner in painting.
