Some works do not impose themselves; they remain. Coyote is experienced as a figure observing from a threshold, suspended between appearing and vanishing. The line does not seek to close the form, but to hold it in tension, like a contained breath. In this piece, MOCS constructs a presence that neither acts nor escapes; it accompanies. Through contemporary figuration and expressive drawing, the work activates a symbolic reading that feels close, almost physical, and naturally situates itself within contemporary charcoal drawing on canvas.
Charcoal on canvas: sustained graphic tension
The charcoal moves insistently, leaving superimposed traces that densify the surface. The atmosphere is restrained and abrasive, dominated by blacks, grays, and broken whites that reinforce a sense of silent alertness. The rhythm of the line is irregular, almost nervous, characteristic of expressive drawing and contemporary figuration. There is no decorative intention: matter accumulates, corrects itself, contradicts itself. This visual friction keeps the work active, as if the image were still adjusting in front of the viewer, typical of figurative contemporary art on textile support.
Contemporary figuration: fragmented form
The concept is sustained by a clear idea: the body as transit. The coyote is not a naturalistic representation, but a symbol of resistance and wear. Its fragmented form reflects a recognizable human state: being present without fully occupying space. The figure neither advances nor retreats; it remains. From contemporary drawing, the work establishes a contrast between solidity and vulnerability that resonates with those drawn to symbolic figuration and contained visual narrative.

The piece subtly dialogues with the visual energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, particularly in its raw gesture, layering, and psychological treatment of the drawn body. Born in Cuernavaca and a graduate of the Botticelli Institute for Art and Restoration with a degree in fine arts, the artist develops a practice influenced by comics, film, and rock music. Coyote is an original artwork, a unique piece and signed work, created in 2025 in charcoal on canvas, measuring 40 × 50 cm, conceived to coexist intimately and steadily within a space.

Born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, and a graduate of the Botticelli Institute for Art and Restoration with a degree in Fine Arts, his interest in art began through a fascination with comics, films, and rock music. The catharsis of expressing disruptive emotions led him to find in art an ideal channel of expression. His work is the result of a journey through intangible emotions, guided by the need to communicate feelings and anxieties rooted in universal themes. He understands the act of creation as a raw and spontaneous experience, strongly influenced by movements such as Art Brut, Abstract Expressionism, Neo-Expressionism, and by artists including Jean Dubuffet, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Rufino Tamayo. Elements such as color, gesture, line, point, figure, and texture function as tools to construct a deeply personal aesthetic experience, inviting the viewer to accompany him on this journey and to connect with their own emotions and inner concerns.
